About the event

In New York City, nature occurs in 30,000 acres of neighborhood parks and natural areas, over 888,000 trees, and 520 miles of shoreline. The accessibility and quality of green and blue spaces vary across the city, reflecting historic and ongoing legal and policy decisions. This disparity affects New Yorkers' opportunities to engage with and experience nature. In addition, the uneven distribution and function of nature affects the risk exposure for people and more than human life. Join us for a compelling and thought-provoking panel with Evan Joo, Julia Monk, and Véronëque Ignace, experts in people's interactions with nature in parkland, greenspace biodiversity and habitat connectivity, and flooding science and monitoring.

The event will be held in person on Monday, April 13 beginning at 4 PM at 79 WSE, 6th floor conference room.
